What is your Occupation?

Welcome to the living word of god in Genesis chapter 47 verse 3 when Israel came into the presence of pharaoh the king of Egypt pharaoh asked Israel and his sons and the family what is your occupation and they say to pharaoh your servants are shepherds oh brothers and sisters the world is asking you today as followers of Christ what is your occupation what is your answer to the world today when your neighbors look at you and they ask the question what is your occupation I don’t know what profession you are in what you are doing what you are engaged in but as a follower of Christ as a Christian Jesús have commissioned us to be shepherds oh Jesus turned to peter at the end of his ministry and say do you love me peter and he said yes I do and Jesús said be a shepherd fit my flock feed my lamb take care and that commission is the same today for each one of us be a shepherd when others look at you they should see us as shepherds shepherding the sheep of Jesús feeding the lamb feeding the sheep i tell you brothers and sisters I don’t know what the world see in us but I will hope that they see shepherd in us Jesús is our good shepherd and we shall not wander but as shepherd of Jesús we are to reflect his image and feed the lamb and so pharaoh said to Jacob and his family your father and your brothers have come the land of Egypt is before you I tell you brothers and sisters god will provide everything and when god provide it is always the best god is the giver of all perfect gift and if you and I are good faithful shepherd he will provide and he will provide the best pastures the still water for all of us may we be good shepherds.
