Acts 9:36

welcome to the living word of God in acts chapter 9 verse 36 onward we find this beautiful story of a woman who served the people as was commissioned by Jesus a follower of Christ I tell you brothers and sisters when we believe in Jesus when we have encountered Jesus when we have found Jesus I tell you we can do one thing and that is to serve others Jesus said I did not come to be served but to serve and if we claim to be followers of Christ one thing that we should always desire to do is to serve others and so in the city of Juba was a disciple by the name Tabitha who was also called lovingly by the people Dorcas this woman was full of good works and charitable deeds which she did she was full of good works and charitable deeds what are you doing brothers and sisters are you just accumulating your wealth in the bank account and being proud of it are you living in a palace your places do you have so many things in your in you or with you yet you do not do anything to help your brother across the street in your neighborhood who is struggling to have square meal on the table Dorcas Tabitha did all good things and was terrible charitable in her deeds brothers and sisters if we are truly followers of Christ we cannot but help others when we can but Tabitha got sick and died brothers and sisters our good works cannot save us all of us regardless of who we are fair or dark fat or thin rich or poor powerful or weak we will all die because of sin but the bible says that peter came peter was told about Dorcas and how broken-hearted the people were so peter went in and called out in verse 40 Tabitha arise and she opened her eyes and she was alive oh brothers and sisters if you believe in Jesus if you are saved by his grace and if you are full of good works and do charitable deeds even if you go to sleep and sleep in faith time will come when Jesus will come and call your name arise and you will open your eyes and see Jesus in the clouds of heaven and you will live with God in his kingdom forever may that be your
