welcome to the living word of God in acts chapter 11 peter is interacting with the fellow believers and it came to a point when peter had to defend what he did why he visited the gentiles Cornelius the centurion and his family and friends who were considered to be unclean so he said and as I began to speak the holy spirit fell upon them as upon us at the beginning I tell you brothers and sisters God is not confined to an individual or to a church or to a community or to nationality God is for everyone Jesus is for all to those who are willing to receive him and obey him and peter said I remember the word of Jesus he said john baptized you with water but you shall be baptized with the holy spirit that’s what verse 16 said brothers and sisters the holy spirit and the blessings of God is not confined to a certain group but it is for all who are willing to receive the holy spirit who are willing to obey God are you willing to be baptized by the holy spirit and so peter said if therefore God gave them the same spirit as he gave us when we believed on the lord Jesus Christ who are we can withstand God can we withstand God no we are just created being he is the creator we are sinners wretched sinners God is righteous and almighty how can we ever withstand and if God chooses to save the whole world who are we to define God as ours and not theirs
peter used the word when we first believe God blessed us and gave us the spirit when they believed God gave them the spirit verse 18 when they heard these things they became silent and they glorified God saying and God had also granted to the gentiles repentance to life yes repentance to life brothers and sisters is a gift of God for everyone who is willing to accept and obey God may that be our blessed experience Amen
