Welcome to the living word of God in acts chapter 4 we read the story of the witnessing of peter and john it reads now as they spoke to the people the priest the captain of the temple and the Sadducees came upon them being greatly disturbed that they taught the people and preaching Jesus the resurrection from the dead and they laid their hands on them and put them in custody until the next day for it was already evening oh brothers and sisters
Jesus never promised that if we choose him and follow him we will have a blissful peaceful life in fact Jesus said if you choose me even your own family members will rise against you when you share and preach the word of God sometimes when you stand up and speak the truth I tell you brothers and sisters Satan will work hard even the leaders of the church even the leaders of the community might rise against you peter and john witnessed and preached the gospel and are you not surprised that the people the priest the captain of the temple and the Sadducees came up against them and got them and put them in prison oh but I tell you brothers and sisters the word of God cuts like a double-edged sword nothing can stop it the gospel of Jesus cannot be stopped they may try to stop her but the more they try the more it will spread that’s the greatness of God and in verse 4 however many of those who heard the word believed and the number of the men came to be about five thousand I tell you brothers and sisters don’t be discouraged when you share and preach the gospel if somebody is against you if some people and some group are up against you don’t be disappointed in his courage peter and john were arrested and put in prison but as they were put in prison the gospel spread more and more people were drawn to the food of Jesus to the food of the cross I tell you brothers and sisters let us never be discouraged to share the good news of the salvation of man through the cross of Jesus Amen
