Welcome to the living word of God and in genesis chapter 32 verse 28 I want to dwell with you brothers and sisters this in this verse again and God the one who wrestled with God the whole night ask him in verse 27 what is your name and he said Jacob God is asking us today what is your name and I tell you like Jacob our answer today is Jacob Jacob the deceiver the sup planter oh I tell you we are all sinners we have come short of the glory of God and meaning we are deceivers we are sinners
God is asking us today what is your name and our answer is my name is Jacob my name is Jacob and in verse 28 when we answer to God that we are sinners we are deceivers we are sup planters we have deceived many others in many ways including God God is not a man God cannot be deceived but we think we deceived God by thinking that we do many things in hiding and God will not know but God knows everything but when we tell the truth to God this is what will happen and so that God told Jacob your name shall no longer be Jacob oh I tell you brothers and sisters when you accept and tell the truth confess and repent and tell God I am a deceiver please forgive me please deliver me I tell you God will say your name shall no longer be Jacob your name shall no longer be Jacob a deceiver but your name shall change and God told Jacob for but Israel for you have struggled with God and with men and have prevailed I tell you brothers and sisters when we confess and repent God forgives and change our name from Jacob to Israel from a deceiver to a victorious person and that’s why God in the new testament said you will no longer be the same in a twinkling of an eye you shall be changed this mortal shall put on immortality I tell you brothers and sisters our name shall change from being a sinner to a righteous man from being a wicked man to a saint saved by the blood of Jesus if that be our experience today God be praised
